Just Close Your Tabs
Daily context from the tabs you would usually throw away.
Tab context is used only to create the review flow the user asked for.
Just Close Your Tabs handles browser tab data, account tokens, and share links. This page documents what is collected, what is not collected, how it is processed, and the controls available in the product.
Chrome extension data is not used for personalized ads, retargeting, unrelated profiling, or sale to data brokers.
Information handled
When a review runs, the extension sends HTTP(S) tab titles, URLs, pinned state, window id, tab order, and protected-rule matches needed to build the summary.
The website stores account ids, browser-profile installation ids, hashed extension tokens, review settings, protected rules, and usage/model counters for rate limits and cost monitoring.
The app stores generated summaries, captured tab records, public share tokens, share access state, lightweight feedback left on shared summaries, and aggregate share-view insight rows keyed by hashed viewer identifiers.
Information not collected
- Local files, chrome:// pages, extension pages, and other browser-internal URLs are not sent for review.
- Server-only API keys and secrets are never stored in the extension or browser-exposed code.
- The feedback and share-view insight flows store viewer hashes for duplicate control, not raw viewer IP addresses or user-agent strings.
How information is used and shared
Review data is transmitted to the app over the configured App URL, processed by an AI summarization service, and stored securely so the signed-in owner can search, reopen, share, rotate, disable, or delete summaries. Public share pages disclose only the summary content associated with the active share token. The extension asks the user to accept this review data disclosure in the popup or options page before sending tab titles or URLs.
Just Close Your Tabs' use of information received from Chrome APIs adheres to the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. Data is transferred only to provide or secure the tab-review feature, is not used for unrelated advertising, and is not made available for humans to read except where required for user-requested support, security, legal compliance, or aggregated operations.
User controls
Pinned tabs and protected rules are used before close recommendations are shown, and the extension reviews only HTTP(S) pages.
Public access uses a separate share token. Owners can disable or rotate the link without deleting the private summary.
Owners can delete stale summaries, revoke extension tokens, and cancel or restore local cleanup actions from the product flow.
Signed-in owners can download a bounded JSON export of account defaults, protected rules, recent summaries, captured tabs, and usage counters without extension tokens, share tokens, prompts, API keys, or raw provider payloads.
